| Veronica
Robilliard was just ten months old when her
parents left Kent in the UK and brought her
to Australia. She grew up in the Gippsland
area of Victoria.
Whilst pursuing art
studies at Morwell Technical College she won
the Sun Newspaper's Art Bursary. This led to
a scholarship to study art at the Melbourne
Institute of Technology.
In due course she
established herself as a watercolourist of
note winning many painting and drawing awards
in the process. In due course Veronica added
pastels to her artistic skills. Nowadays she
paints in oils more often than not proving
that she has an artistic skill set second to
none.
Veronica Robilliard is
not afraid to "paint on the edge"
and she has the ability to capture light,
tranquillity and movement. But most of all
her work reflects energetic movement which
she uncannily captures with a minimum number
of pallet knife or brush strokes.
"Freedom is my
life's pursuit" states Veronica,
"It reflects in the brush strokes of my
work. I love the transparency and freedom of
watercolour, the vibrancy of pastels and the
buttery sweep of a brush filled with oil
paint. It's all totally exciting and I
simply love it!" |
